ABU DHABI, 21st June, 2023 (WAM) — His Highness Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Sports Council, has commended the Support provided by His Highness President Yaed Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, is in charge of the country’s sports sector .
His Highness Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed made the statement while chairing today’s regular meeting of the Council’s Board of Directors, which was attended by Council Vice-Chairman Mohamed Thani Al Rumaiti, members of the Board of Directors and Arif • Hamad Al-Awani was present at the meeting, Secretary-General of the Council.
During the meeting, Sheikh Nahyan praised the Council’s achievements in 2022, such as industry awards such as the MENA Stevie Award, emphasizing the need to maintain and improve the quality of sporting events in the community.
In addition, he was aware of the council’s key performance indicators and reports from other clubs in Abu Dhabi and instructed them to sign the KPI agreement so that they can monitor their own goals and indicators.
It has been decided that every club in the emirate of Abu Dhabi will have a social affairs committee. Members of the club’s board of directors will chair the committee, which will form part of the system’s central management committee.
The committee will urge clubs to practice social responsibility, promote sports activities for members, players’ families and the community, and set up a volunteer team. These changes will improve the standard of living and enhance the experience of spectators at sporting events. He stressed the need to build a database of club members, players, former and current staff and improve communication to attract them to games.
The meeting also discussed ways to open up the club to all who want to get involved in sport, especially the determined, and they should have access to a friendly environment suitable for all sports.
