From June 23, new speed limits will be imposed in the area due to ongoing roadworks on the Al Saada Bridge in Abu Dhabi.

However, the Emirates Transport Authority announced on Wednesday that the policy will only be in place until the end of December 2023.

The speed limit on the Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Street Bridge will be reduced to 80 km/h in both directions starting Friday, the Integrated Transport Center (ITC) in Abu Dhabi said.

The ITC said drivers were urged to strictly obey traffic signs and take suggested alternative routes.

“This will help us ease congestion and keep everyone safe,” it added.
