ABU DHABI, 12th May, 2023 (WAM) — Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler and National Security Advisor of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, the State Emergency Crisis Chairman Ali Saeed Neyadi and Crisis and Emergency Management Summit – Abu Dhabi Crisis and Emergency Management Summit 2023 at Saadiyat, The St. Regis Abu Dhabi on 9-10 May Island Resort held for two days.
During the award ceremony held during the summit, Al Neyadi commended the great efforts of the partners, sponsors, speakers and moderators to ensure the summit was a success in the best possible way, further upholding the distinguished reputation of the United Arab Emirates in the organization A dedicated international event aspect, especially when the summit brings together distinguished guests and speakers from all over the world.
Al Neyadi said: “The success of this year’s CEMS is a challenge for the next edition, where we hope to deliver the best and brightest experts and industry leaders at the local and international levels. The summit witnessed the active participation of senior officials from the UAE and other countries, representing relevant departments, ministries and agencies related to emergency, crisis and disaster management. Over two days, the summit discussed several themes and themes in the field of emergency and crisis mitigation with the best experts and distinguished thought leaders. In addition to this, seminars and various discussion groups will be held.
Al Neyadi paid tribute to the various outstanding committees and teams who have made tremendous efforts in the face of the Covid 19 pandemic. He also honored some of the previous leaders of the Authority, namely His Excellency Muhammad Khalfan Al Rumaithi; Jamal Al Hosani and His Excellency Shahwan Suroor Al Dhaheri, for their hard work during their tenure at NCEMA.
Meanwhile, Obaid Rashid Al Hosan Al Shamsi, Vice-Chairman of the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority, honored outstanding entities that have been certified as compliant with the National Standard for Business Continuity Management Systems (BCMS) after passing through all stages of the assessment process and ensuring that all system standard. The ceremony also honored those on the front lines who are fulfilling their duties and making tremendous efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Entities receiving compliance awards are: Etihad Hydro, Emirates Center for Strategic Studies, Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority, Federal Government Human Resources Authority, Ministry of Finance, Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship , Customs and Port Security, State Ambulance, and the Securities and Commodities Administration.
NCEMA has also awarded partners Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Interior and Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation as Strategic Partner, Emirates News Agency as Media Partner, Sky News Arabia as International Media Partner, Etisalat by e& as Strategic Digital Partner Partner, Rabdan Academy As Academic Partner, Trends Research and Advisory as Advisory Partner, in addition to Speakers and Session Moderators who received Certificates of Appreciation for their participation in Day 1 of the Emergency and Crisis Management Summit 2023.
