ABUJA, 7th April, 2023 (WAM) — The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, received the UAE Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Nigeria, Dr. Fahad Obaid Al Taffaq, Ambassador to the Republic, on the occasion of the end of his term in office.
Al Taffaq conveyed the greetings of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, And their best wishes for the further development and prosperity of the Federal Republic of Dubai to Nigeria and its people.
Tafak thanked President Buhari for the support he received from the Nigerian government during his tenure as the UAE Ambassador to Nigeria. He expressed his joy at the development of relations at all levels since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries 41 years ago. Al Taffaq also expressed his wish for further progress and prosperity for Nigeria’s leaders and people.
For his part, President Buhari extended his greetings to the President of the UAE, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and expressed his gratitude to the UAE government and best wishes for further development and prosperity to the people.
He commended the ambassador’s efforts to strengthen relations between the UAE and Nigeria during his tenure, and wished him success in his new responsibilities.
