MARRAKECH, 16th June, 2023 (WAM) — Saker Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC), met with Speaker of the House of Representatives Rashid Talbi Alami and President of the Moroccan Senate Naam Mi Yala, on the sidelines of a parliamentary session on interreligious dialogue in Marrakech.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to strengthen cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries, including mutual visits, sharing best practices and joint participation in international parliamentary activities.
The meeting also highlighted the deep-rooted relationship between the UAE and Morocco based on mutual respect and appreciation.
Ghobash expressed his admiration for Morocco for hosting the conference, which brought together more than 700 representatives from parliaments, civil society and religious institutions from around the world.
He said the meeting had been a great success in addressing key issues related to religious and cultural diversity, tolerance and coexistence, which are crucial to fostering friendship among nations.
Ghobash invited Alami and Miyara to a parliamentary session to be held during COP28, which will be hosted by the UAE at Dubai Expo City from 30 November to 12 December.
Alami and Miyara highlighted the deep-rooted relationship between the UAE and Morocco, and their leaders’ desire to strengthen their overall strategic relationship.
They also discussed several issues of mutual concern, most notably ways to strengthen parliamentary diplomacy in both countries.
