Emirates News Agency – UAE determined to accelerate economic cooperation with countries around the world: Ras Al Khaimah Ruler

SAINT PETERSBURG, 15th June, 2023 (WAM) — His Excellency Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, said that in the presence of President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Under the leadership of His Highness Al Nahyan, the UAE is determined to strengthen economic cooperation with countries around the world to ensure a sustainable and prosperous future for future generations.
This was made in a speech by the ruler of Ras Al Khaimah at the opening of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum in 2023, at which the country will participate as the guest of honor.
“On behalf of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, I would like to thank President Vladimir Putin and the Russian government for their kind invitation to the UAE to participate in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum as the Guest of Honor at this session.”
Sheikh Saud, who led the UAE delegation to the forum, added: “A large delegation from the UAE is participating in the forum, and we are all optimistic and sure that this high-level participation will help advance our relations and cooperation with other countries as we Seeking to create a knowledge-driven future based on science, artificial intelligence, green energy and technology. Together, we will seize all possibilities to advance the goal of sustainable development.”

“Given the global issues that require further cooperation and integration, especially in the areas of sustainability, food security and climate change, and in the context of the ongoing transition to a knowledge-based economy,” continued Sheikh Saud, “the UAE is Accelerate development to boost prosperity and deepen stability, and diversify non-oil revenues and investments,” he said, noting that the UAE is embarking on a new phase of its development dynamics and a new cycle of social, political and economic expansion.

“The UAE will host the 28th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28) in Dubai Expo City in November 2023 to accelerate climate action and meet international commitments to limit global warming to 1.5° as agreed C is in Paris, uniting the world to find solutions to challenges and seize opportunities to ensure a sustainable future for present and future generations.”

Sheikh Saud added that COP28 will be one of the most important events in the UAE as it provides a platform for international collective action to meet global climate commitments by limiting future warming to 1.5°C.

The RAK ruler led the UAE delegation to the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF 2023), hosted by Russia, from June 14 to 17. The UAE high-level delegation included representatives of multiple ministries, agencies, government agencies, and major national companies from both the public and private sectors.
