ABU DHABI, 13th December, 2022 (WAM) — The UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation and the China Generation Foundation have announced the signing of a cooperation agreement aimed at promoting Jiu-Jitsu culture in China.
The agreement allows both parties to use jiu-jitsu to accelerate sports cooperation between the UAE and China.
The deal is significant because it comes on the heels of the inclusion of jiu-jitsu as an official event at the 19th Hangzhou Asian Games in September 2023 and the World Games in Chengdu, China, in 2023. August 7-17, 2025. It will also help expand the jujitsu fan base in the People’s Republic of China, especially among young people.
According to the agreement, the two sides cooperated to support the Chinese National Jiu-Jitsu Team in preparing for the Asian Games.
It was signed by Fahad Ali Al Shamsi, Secretary-General of the UAE and Asian Jiu-Jitsu Federation, and Tom Wang, Executive Partner of Generation Fund, in the presence of Abdel Moneim Al Hashemi, Chairman of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, Chairman of the Asian Jiu-Jitsu Federation and Senior Vice President of the International Jiu-Jitsu Federation. chairman.
“The UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation is keen to promote the popularity of the sport in many countries by organizing and hosting events that bring together the best of the world champions. This partnership with the Chinese Generations Fund is our latest move in this area and we hope to It helps China to develop jiu-jitsu,” Al Hashemi said.
