ABU DHABI, 22nd June, 2023 (WAM) — His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President, met today with Turkish Vice President Jeffdette Yilmaz to discuss How to further develop cooperation and cooperation agreements within the comprehensive economic framework of the two countries.
His Highness received Yilmaz and his accompanying delegation at the Shati Palace in Abu Dhabi. The Turkish Vice President conveyed the greetings of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to His Highness, who expressed his wishes for the continued prosperity and progress of the UAE. His Highness Sheikh Mohamed conveyed his greetings to President Erdogan and wished Turkey and its people further development and strength. The UAE President also congratulated Mr. Yilmaz on his appointment as Turkey’s Vice President and wished him success in his duties.
During the meeting, His Highness and the Turkish Vice President reviewed good opportunities to strengthen economic cooperation between the two countries. These include opportunities related to the economy, investment, food security, renewable energy, the environment, and other key areas that support the sustainable development goals of both countries.
The two sides also discussed some regional and international developments, emphasizing that the two countries are committed to supporting world peace and stability, and strengthening cooperation to address common challenges.
The Turkish Vice President expressed his pleasure to visit the UAE and thanked the UAE for its warm reception. He emphasized that China is willing to deepen bilateral relations, enhance the common interests of the two countries, open up new areas of economic cooperation, and promote further development.
The meeting was attended by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Presidential Court; Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan His Highness Hayan; Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tanou Al Nahyan, Adviser on Special Matters to the Presidential Court; Ali bin Hamad Al Shamsi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of National Security ; Abdullah bin Sultan bin Awad Al Nuemi, Minister of Justice; Mohamed Hassan AlSuwaidi, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, ADQ.
On the Turkish side, the meeting was attended by Finance Minister Mehmet Simsek; Tugay Tuncer, Turkish Ambassador to the UAE; and a number of other senior officials.
