[ad_1]

DUBAI, 8th June, 2023 (WAM) — Middle Eat 2023’s K-Business Day will be held at the Dubai World Trade Center on 12-13 June, with the participation of Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy; and Korean SMEs and Startup Minister Lee Young.

Hosted by the Ministry of Economy and Korea’s Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises and Startups, the event will bring together over 100 startups from the UAE and over 80 from Korea. Other sponsors include investment institutions and business incubators from both countries, such as Korea Federation of Small and Medium Enterprises, Korea Institute of Entrepreneurship and Entrepreneurship Development, Korea Small and Medium Enterprises and Startup Agency, Korea Technology and Information Promotion Association, INNOBIZ Innovation Association, Korea Medical Devices Association ( KMDA) and Startup Nation of the UAE.

Hosting the event reflects the mutual commitment of both countries to strengthen bilateral investment and trade relations. This is one of the MoUs signed between the Korean Ministry of Economy and the Korean Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises and Startups in January 2023 during the visit of South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol to the UAE.

By hosting the event, the Ministry of Economy aims to enable entrepreneurs in the UAE and South Korea to explore sustainable partnerships in the fields of technology, artificial intelligence, smart agriculture, healthcare, energy, media and security, and to support SMEs to enter these two sectors market. This will contribute to the sustainable development of the economies of both countries and create new areas for UAE start-ups to grow and prosper. These efforts are in line with the ministry’s strategy to develop the country’s entrepreneurial landscape in partnership with relevant government entities, the private sector and relevant global institutions. They also align with the goals of the “We the UAE 2031” vision, which aims to strengthen the UAE’s position as a leading global center for the new economy, industries of the future and investments in these sectors.

K-Business Day at Middle Eat 2023 is a key event to strengthen partnerships between UAE and Korean start-ups. It brings together investors and business incubators from both countries to explore the entrepreneurial ideas participating in the event and the available investment opportunities offered by startups. In addition, it facilitates the exchange of expertise to encourage SMEs to expand into new economic sectors. The event achieves its goals through three conferences, with “Korea Business Day in the Middle East” being its main forum. Other sessions focused on technology exchanges between South Korea and the Middle East, and partnerships between startups operating in the field of engineering innovation and invention using advanced technologies.

UAE start-ups and businesses wishing to participate in the event can register by: https://www.moec.gov.ae/en/k-business-day.
