ABU DHABI, 27th January, 2023 (WAM) — Wizz Air Abu Dhabi announced today its operational results for 2022, operating more than 6,000 flights and carrying more than 1.2 million passengers.
The national carrier supports the sustainable development of culture and tourism in Abu Dhabi by carrying more than 600,000 point-to-point passengers to the UAE in 2022.
Wizz Air Abu Dhabi looks forward to future growth in line with the UAE Tourism Strategy 2031, further cementing the UAE’s position as one of the world’s top tourist destinations.
Wizz Air currently flies from Abu Dhabi to 36 destinations in 25 different countries and is poised to further accelerate and expand operations in 2023.
Wizz Air Abu Dhabi doubled the size of its fleet and organization with a 100% increase from four to eight new state-of-the-art A321-neo aircraft. The average age of the fleet is 1 year, ensuring the airline lives up to its commitment to sustainability with the lowest environmental footprint in the region.
