ABU DHABI, 16th June, 2023 (WAM) — Topland General Trading Company has approved Zayed People of Determination Higher Organization (ZHO) as a ZHO member to manufacture and produce sunflower lanyards for hidden disabilities in the GCC region. ZHO signed a memorandum of understanding with the company to produce lanyards adorned with the bee logo, a unique symbol of their products, on products manufactured in the UAE.
The two parties are also cooperating to research and study the production of lanyards made of environmentally friendly materials, including 3D hooks and locks, and plan to produce other Sunflower products such as bags, badges, pins, etc. in the bee workshop.
The MoU was signed by Abdullah Abdul Ali Humaidan, Secretary General of ZHO, and Andy Faulkner, CEO and sole owner of Topland.
According to the MOU, ZHO has the exclusive right to produce sunflower lanyards for GCC countries, and will add other regions at a later stage.
Topland will buy 10,000 lanyards from ZHO and in the first year, will manufacture 100,000 sunflower lanyards to sell to GCC countries. Events are being prepared and held to present and sell products for publicity and marketing purposes.
In addition, the parties are also looking to manufacture other sunflower-patterned products such as bags, badges, pins, and more. ZHO will provide a space within its Bahia center for Topland to sort, pack and control quality.
Al-Humaidan welcomed the signing of the MoU with Topland, expressing ZHO’s deep appreciation for the company’s confidence in People of Determination’s manufacture of sunflower lanyards, which will be the first production and distribution center for the product in the GCC states .
In November 2021, ZHO launched the “Sunflower” hidden community initiative. By wearing sunflower lanyards in public places to distinguish them, it helps the surrounding communities understand their needs, treat them kindly, and always provide help to those in need. them.
The initiative is in line with ZHO’s strategy to make Abu Dhabi a city of determination friendly and aims to educate community members on identifying hidden disabilities of determination. Al-Humaidan added that the initiative includes specific learning difficulties, autism spectrum disorders and communication impairments.
