Emirates SkyCargo and Emirates Post signed an e-commerce MOU to position Dubai as a global e-commerce hub – Dubai Blog

Emirates SkyCargo, the cargo arm of Emirates Airlines, and Emirates Post Group (EPG) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the Dubai Airshow. The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Nabil Sultan, Senior Vice President of Emirates Air Cargo Division, and Abdulla M. Alashram, Chief Executive Officer of Emirates Post Group.

According to the terms of the memorandum of understanding, the two entities will jointly develop an end-to-end global logistics platform for e-commerce, focusing on serving the Middle East, Africa and West Asia markets. This will be the first collaboration between an air cargo carrier and a national postal operator, combining Emirates SkyCargo’s global network and capacity advantages with EPG’s “Emirates Post” business’s last-mile delivery expertise and partnership.

The partnership will rely on Dubai’s advantages as a global logistics hub and will encourage e-commerce companies to conduct business in the city, which is ideally positioned as a gateway to major consumer markets. An 8-hour flight from Dubai can cover nearly two-thirds of the world’s population, which is an attractive proposal for e-commerce companies that want to deliver goods to customers in the shortest possible time. With its comprehensive transportation links, transit hubs and supply chain infrastructure, Dubai is also in a favorable position to handle the flow and volume of global e-commerce goods.
