Starting July 5, Emirates will launch a new daily flight from Dubai to Montreal. Montreal becomes Emirates’ second Canadian gateway, complementing the passenger service to Toronto that it has operated since 2007.
Passengers from Montreal can enjoy Emirates’ award-winning service to and from Dubai, with safe, seamless and efficient connections to Emirates’ global network of more than 130 destinations in more than 70 countries and territories.
The daily flight between Dubai and Montreal will be operated as EK243/244 on a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft in a three-class configuration, offering a premium travel experience in its cabin. Passengers can enjoy Emirates’ award-winning travel experience on board its wide-body aircraft, which features 8 First Class suites, 42 Business Class lie-flat seats and 304 Economy Class seats.

Emirates network and Air Canada partnership
Customers of Emirates and Air Canada have access to an expansive network of destinations thanks to a codeshare partnership between the two airlines. In addition to Emirates flying to more than 130 destinations, its customers can currently travel to 19 Canadian destinations outside of Toronto through the partnership, while Air Canada customers can fly Emirates to Dubai and into Africa, 17 cities in the Indian subcontinent, Middle East and Far East. In addition, Emirates passengers can choose from more than 140 interline routes operated by Air Canada, including 27 within Canada and 94 between Canada and the US and South America.
Through enhanced interline arrangements between the two airlines, Emirates passengers can now choose from 68 destinations departing from Montreal, including the US, Mexico, South America and the Caribbean, while enjoying the convenience of a one-way ticket and smooth connection. The most popular domestic points in Canada via Montreal include Vancouver, Calgary, Ottawa and Halifax.
Emirates Skywards members can earn Miles on all eligible Air Canada flights and redeem Miles for award tickets across the Air Canada network.
The flight schedule from Montreal will provide Canadian travelers with easy access to major leisure destinations outside of Dubai such as Thailand, Lebanon, India, Bali and French-speaking Indian Ocean destinations such as the Seychelles. The new service also opens up a new convenient inbound connection to Montreal for leisure and business travelers from Dubai, India, Lebanon and Singapore, as well as other Southeast Asian and African countries, as well as those visiting family and friends, and pursuing international students. Emirates has operated the Toronto route since 2007 and its flagship A380 route has operated the Dubai-Toronto route since 2009. With the addition of Montreal Airport to its vast route network, the airline will offer two options for travelers planning to travel to or from Canada. To support the global movement of goods and cargo, Emirates offers cargo services to Canada, with a belly hold of 20 tonnes on its Boeing 777 and up to 15 tonnes on its A380 aircraft.
Trade between the UAE and Canada
The UAE is Canada’s largest export market in the MENA region. Bilateral trade between Canada and the UAE will exceed CAD$2.6 billion in 2022, a 53% increase over the past five years. According to Statistics Canada, the value of the UAE’s foreign direct investment stock in Canada is estimated to be C$1.3 billion in 2021.
Canada is one of the top 20 source markets for inbound tourism to Dubai, with 158,000 Canadian tourists in 2022, more than double the number in 2021. – trade arab news agency
