Employee experience key to solving HR challenges: SAP

[ad_1]

Experts at SAP and its customers agreed this week that the concept of employee experience has become so fundamental to HR strategy that it is no longer a standalone trend but an integral part of all employment metatrends through 2023.

At the SAP HR Connect event at the Museum of the Future in Dubai, research by the SAP SuccessFactors Growth & Insights team identified seven trends that will shape the HR industry in 2023.

Natali Stajner, Director of SuccessFactors, SAP Middle East and South, noted that three new trends emerging this year are increased competition among companies for technical talent; a focus on integrating holistic well-being, including financial well-being, into HR practices; and a renewed focus on workforce readiness for management .

recurring trend

The four recurring trends identified by the research are the adoption of emerging technologies – with artificial intelligence and the metaverse receiving particular attention in 2023; the recognition that flexible work environments are here to stay, and how to make the most of them; approaches to mobilizing the workforce for the future ; Embrace the complexities of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) policies.

“All of these trends are influenced by, and are themselves, impacting employee experience,” comments Nelly Boustany, Senior Director, Human Experience Value Consultants, SAP. “Delivering a positive employee experience in these trends in 2023 will keep current employees engagement and combat the phenomenon of ‘quiet quitting’, where employees disengage and put in minimal effort. Fair pay that emphasizes contribution, recognizes work, and provides tools and technology that make employees’ jobs easier, all These all enhance the employee experience and help improve engagement.”

Speaking at a SAP event on HR priorities for 2023, Boustany also referred to a little-known phenomenon known as “quiet recruiting,” which refers to recruiting employees through upscaling and reskilling existing colleagues with specific talents. Fill skill gaps instead of adding new full-time employees. Uncertainty in the global economy is shaping the trend in 2023, she said, especially as many organizations are affected by a freeze on external hiring.

Customer Insights on HR Technology

In terms of adopting smart technologies, Boustany highlighted that trends in 2023 show that organizations are broadening their investments to explore applications in talent management and development, employee engagement, DEIB and employee benefits.

She also pointed out that the Metaverse/Web3.0 is a key theme of all the trends and that progressive organizations are already exploring the potential use cases of these technologies. As early examples, virtual reality and augmented reality have been used for learning and development and collaboration, despite the high cost of adoption.

Experts from SAP customers in the region also spoke at SAP HR Connect, sharing their experiences and success stories on how technology can improve the employee experience.

Improving constantly

Farha Muhanna Al-Kuwari, spokesperson and director of the Center for Human Resource Information Systems at the Qatar Civil Service and Government Development Bureau (CGB), commented on the sidelines of the event: “CGB and SAP have had a decade-long partnership in transforming the Qatari government’s The Mawared aspect of the HR system plays a key role.
