Energy World to attend ADIPEC 2022 in Abu Dhabi to tackle challenges of energy security and sustainability

Abu Dhabi: UAE will be the future of global energy as industry leaders, policymakers and innovators from around the world gather in Abu Dhabi from 31 October to 3 November for the world’s most influential ADIPEC The core energy industry forum for dialogue.

Under the new patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, ADIPEC has grown to reflect the rapidly changing global energy landscape. The event comes at a time of unprecedented complexity in energy markets and the global economy, as industry and governments work to achieve energy security while advancing climate goals.

The flagship global energy event will engage the global sector under the theme “The Future of Energy: Security, Economics and Sustainability” to help answer the industry’s most pressing questions and will play an important role in focusing on today’s energy needs, reducing emissions, And work towards a clean energy future.

The event will highlight the balanced approach needed to drive a successful energy transition: rapidly decarbonizing today’s energy sources while diversifying tomorrow’s energy sources. A week before COP27 in Egypt, as the UAE prepares to host COP28, a particular focus will be on how the industry can implement climate action to translate net-zero commitments into realized emissions reductions.

ADIPEC 2022 will feature a keynote address by His Excellency Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, UAE Climate Envoy, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, CEO and Managing Director of ADNOC Group, Abu Dhabi National Oil Company.

The meeting will also see the release of the second edition of the International Methane Emissions Observatory (IMEO) report, “Focusing on Methane”, by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). The report will outline progress in setting, tracking and achieving methane emissions reductions, with a particular focus on the oil and gas industry through the Oil and Gas Methane Partnership 2.0.

In addition, OPEC will release its annual World Oil Outlook report to highlight and further understand the many challenges and opportunities the oil industry may face in the future. It will also work to encourage dialogue, cooperation and transparency between OPEC and other stakeholders in the industry.

ADIPEC 2022 will feature a series of sessions providing strategic and technical insights, including the ADIPEC 2022 Strategy Session and a Hydrogen Focused session. More than 1,200 speakers, including more than 40 ministers, CEOs and policy influencers, will participate in more than 350 sessions.

This year, ADIPEC’s conference program will focus on five strategic themes:

  • “The Road to COP27 and COP28”
  • “Industry Transformation: Adapting to New Fundamentals of Supply, Low Carbon and New Energy Solutions”

ADIPEC 2022 will also introduce a new Decarbonization Zone and Decarbonization Conference. Centered on the latest developments in methane, hydrogen, carbon capture utilization and storage (CCUS), and new energy sources, the conference will focus on the industry’s path to net-zero emissions through the deployment of cleaner energy and innovative technologies.

Ministerial panel discussions will cover the most pressing geopolitical, sustainability and economic issues. The session will explore the future of energy supply, security and affordability, including “Geopolitics today: How the energy industry can navigate change” and “COP27: Key policy considerations for achieving net zero in times of uncertainty”.
