Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, will resume direct passenger flights between Abu Dhabi and Beijing from 29 June 2022, becoming the first regular direct flight to Beijing under the latest authorization of the Joint Prevention and Control State Council Mechanism for International Passenger Flights.
The airline will fly weekly on Boeing 787 Dreamliners, one of the most fuel-efficient aircraft in the world.

Martin Drew, Senior Vice President, Global Sales and Cargo, Etihad Airways Group, said: “Etihad Airways is delighted to resume passenger services between Abu Dhabi and Beijing, our second route back to China. China has always been an important strategic market for Etihad Airways, and the resumption of direct flights between the two capitals will further strengthen China-Arab comprehensive strategic partnership.”
Etihad Airways’ scheduled flights from Abu Dhabi to Shanghai resumed in July 2020 to meet the huge demand for passengers between the UAE and China.
