Etihad Engineering Corporation and Israel Aerospace Industries Corporation jointly provide passenger aircraft to cargo aircraft conversion

[ad_1]

Etihad Engineering, the largest commercial aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) service provider in the Middle East, has signed a strategic partnership with Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) to provide passenger aircraft transshipment (P2F) for Boeing 777-300ER Conversion service.

In 2019, IAI and GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS) announced the launch of the Boeing 777-300ERSF, which established a P2F conversion known as the “big twin”, demonstrating its status as the largest twin-engine freighter ever.

Although the Covid-19 pandemic has caused losses to the aviation industry, the cargo business is offsetting the losses of operators as it continues to play a key role in promoting international trade. Therefore, industry forecasts show an increase in demand for wide-body freighters with long-distance transportation capabilities.

Etihad Engineering will use their expertise and extensive capabilities to carry out specialized Boeing 777-300ERSF modifications. In the initial phase of the cooperation, Etihad Engineering will promote two conversion lines that can accommodate the conversion of multiple aircraft per year.

Tony Douglas, CEO of Etihad Aviation Group, Said: “The Boeing 777-300ERSF is not only very attractive to customers, but also a technological breakthrough because it is the first model of its kind to provide a wide range of freight solutions. We not only see the demand, but also It is seen as a more environmentally friendly, more profitable, highly innovative solution for our airline customers, and an excellent way to create value for our business.”

Abdul Khaliq Saeed, CEO of Etihad Engineering, Said: “We are very pleased to announce the cooperation with IAI, which will maximize the potential of our highly skilled workforce and consolidate Etihad Engineering Corporation’s position as the center of excellence in Abu Dhabi, in line with Abu Dhabi’s 2030 economy Vision. Our commitment to the P2F program demonstrates our confidence in IAI’s ability to provide long-term value enhancement for the B777-300ER in the global fleet.”

Boaz Levy, President and CEO of Israel Aerospace Industries Corporation, Said: “The Abraham Agreement gives IAI the opportunity to expand its global activities to the Gulf region. IAI is active in more than 100 countries/regions around the world. The establishment of a conversion site in cooperation with Etihad Engineering Corporation proves IAI’s close ties with the UAE. And strengthened its foothold in the region. I believe that this agreement will establish more partnerships with local companies in the Gulf countries, which will develop our business in the region.”

Yossi Melamed, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Israel Aerospace Industries Aviation Group, The world’s leading cargo modification provider IAI Aviation Group has begun to cooperate with GECAS on the structural modification of the Boeing 777-300ERSF, providing leading professional solutions for the air cargo industry. Over the years, Etihad Engineering has received the highest professional recognition from the IAI Aviation Group. The Abraham Agreement allowed us to see the company’s managers in person, to see their abilities and dedication, and to witness the company’s strong capabilities in the field of jet maintenance. The agreement we signed adds an important level to the relationship between Israel and the Gulf countries. I have no doubt that in accordance with this agreement, more agreements will be reached with companies in the region, which will benefit all parties economically. I would like to thank the company’s CEO Tony Douglas and my friend Abdul Khaliq Saeed for their contribution to the success of IAI and Etihad Engineering. A cooperation agreement has been a huge effort. I am eagerly looking forward to the launch of the B77-300ERSF jet, which is jointly modified by IAI and Etihad Engineering, to serve customers all over the world. “
