Etihad strengthens interline and codeshare with six airlines

Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, has entered into a reciprocal interline partnership with three new airline partners – Philippine Airlines (PAL), Austrian Airlines (OS) and Airlink South Africa (4Z).

It has also restarted interline flights with Biman Bangladesh and codeshares with Air Seychelles (HM) and ITA Airlines (AZ).

The deal means customers of all the airlines involved will enjoy enhanced connectivity to destinations in each other’s networks, can book a ticket and check in only once at the start of their flight and have their bags checked in until the end. destination.

Arik De, Chief Revenue Officer, Etihad Airways, said: “It has always been our aim to expand our network reach and bring more guests to Abu Dhabi. Passenger’s life just got easier.Through our partnership with Austrian Airlines, our guests can stop by up to 58 European destinations via Etihad Airways’ Vienna, which operates daily in summer, and have an interline or codeshare agreement with us together with the other four members of the Lufthansa Group.

“Our deal with Airlink South Africa complements our existing options with South African Airways, allowing connecting passengers seamless travel to 16 domestic destinations in South Africa and 25 regional African destinations on our Johannesburg flights.
“By partnering with Philippine Airlines, the large number of Filipino expatriates living in the UAE will be offered the convenience of Etihad’s twice-daily Manila flights, giving them easy access to 19 domestic Philippine destinations, including Cebu, Kaga Yande Oro, Davao and Kalibo.

“Our links with Biman and Air Seychelles have been impacted by the migration of these airlines’ own systems over the past 12 months, so we are delighted to re-establish links with them to complement our own Dhaka and Mahé services and Provides more destinations such as Chittagong and Praslin.

“Following the migration of ITA’s own Amadeus Altea in February, Etihad Airways’ successful partnership with ITA Airlines from Rome Fiumicino to Italy, Europe and beyond is revived.”

The expanded interline and codeshare service will be rolled out progressively across Etihad sales channels, including Etihad.com and travel agencies, over the coming weeks. – trade arab news agency
