The visa scheme was first announced by the Prime Minister, Vice-President and Ruler in March last year. DubaiSheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum strengthened the country’s position as a global economic hub.

Visas can be applied online on the General Directorate of Residence and Foreign Affairs (GDRFA) website, the Federal Citizenship, Customs, Identity and Port Security Authority (ICP) portal or the GDRFA-Dubai Smart App by attaching the required documents and paying the fee. Those wishing to obtain a visa within the UAE can go to a commissioned typing centre such as Amer247 Immigration Services.

  • Bank statements from the last six months showing that the person has a balance of at least $4,000 or its equivalent in other foreign currency.
  • UAE health insurance certificate
  • Latest color passport photo on white background
  • Xerox first and last page of passport
  • Other documents include copies of air tickets, hotel reservations or rental agreements, and proof of residency, such as an invitation letter from family or friends living in the UAE.

How much will it cost?

According to the information mentioned on the service card on the GDRFA website, the five-year multiple entry visa costs AED 1500 (US$ 408). In addition, Dhs20 is charged per transaction at Commercial Bank of Dubai, Dh50 for companies and Dh15 for individuals/Emaratech companies. The application fee through the Amer Centre is AED 100.
