Many tourists from the United Arab Emirates travel to the United States, and tourists leaving the capital can easily pass through American immigration on their way to the United States. The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is one of only six countries in the world to offer this service. The other countries are Aruba, Ireland, Bahamas, Bermuda and Canada. Here are all the details you need to know about the US immigration process at Abu Dhabi Airport.
Where can I find this service at Abu Dhabi Airport?
The service is available on Etihad’s 11 weekly flights to New York City, as well as the airline’s daily flights from Abu Dhabi International Airport to Washington DC and Chicago, Illinois. It allows travelers to go through security, customs and immigration before boarding. Travelers may be considered locals rather than foreigners upon arrival in the U.S., bypassing customs and security procedures. When departing from Abu Dhabi, all travelers must go through U.S. immigration in the UAE.

Stay informed about COVID travel rules
Currently, the U.S. requires most international passengers entering the country to show proof of COVID-19 immunity or immunity. The U.S. government must recognize vaccines. However, the second dose must be administered no less than 14 days prior to entry. Excludes U.S. citizens under 18 and children under 18.
The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention encourages the use of masks on public transport and in confined environments, while masks remain mandatory on all Etihad flights. Since the U.S. lifted its travel ban in June, tourists have not been required to take PCR tests.
Packed according to US safety standards
U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials strictly enforce the rule that all liquids must be no more than 100 milliliters and packed in a single zip-top plastic bag. This includes liquids purchased at duty-free shops, even if they are in a sealed airport shopping bag. Therefore, it is best to double-check the legality of any food or plant. However, you can bring back other items as souvenirs of your trip abroad before entering the United States.
