Leading sustainable finance and transport industry experts will discuss the challenges and opportunities of electric vehicle innovation at the Electric Vehicle Innovation Summit (Evis) in Abu Dhabi.
The three-day conference is scheduled to take place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center from May 29-31 and will feature leading electric vehicle (EV) manufacturers and sustainability experts.
A panel discussion on “Supporting and Financing EV Innovation in the Middle East” will be held on May 30, where panelists will discuss how to accelerate innovation across the EV value chain and support the creation of new start-ups, research and development as well as green financing in promoting key role in the transition to electric vehicles.
Abu Dhabi’s Masdar City, a key player in the sustainability space, will feature prominently at the event, highlighting its efforts to promote the adoption of sustainable urban mobility.
Two of its speakers will address key issues, challenges and opportunities for electric vehicle innovation at Evis 2023.
Lukas Sokol, Head of Master Planning, will shed light on Masdar City’s pioneering work in bringing electric and autonomous vehicles to Abu Dhabi in a presentation titled “Electric Vehicle Infrastructure in the Middle East”.
Sokol will also discuss the challenges and opportunities facing electric vehicles as they play a vital role in the growing urban mobility ecosystem, and the potential quality of life, efficiency and sustainability gains that can be achieved through innovation.
At an upcoming event, Director of Growth Steve Severance will highlight practical ways that cities in Abu Dhabi and the region are capitalizing on the electric vehicle revolution.
In a panel discussion titled “Enabling and Funding Electric Vehicle Innovation in the Middle East,” Severance will provide examples of global success stories that can be tailored to the region.
The panel will include several high-profile experts, including Jonathan Keyes, Senior Manager, Sustainable Finance, HSBC; Pablo Olivera Brizzio, Director, Corporate Innovation, Abu Dhabi Ports; and Khaled Saif, Head of Mobility, Etisalat Services Holding.
Panelists will also discuss how to accelerate innovation across the EV value chain, support the creation, research and development of new startups, and the critical role of green financing in facilitating the transition to EVs.-TradeArabia News Service
