F. Murray Abraham appears guilty as he publicly apologizes for his actions on Apple TV+ series Mythic quest.
“This is a sincere and deep apology,” he said in a statement shared Thursday.
He further added, “While it was never my intention to offend anyone, the jokes I told were nothing more than that, which upset some of my colleagues and ended up losing a good job working with great people. I learn from this My understanding has grown through this experience, and I hope they will forgive me.”
The public apology comes after a prominent news outlet reported that the veteran actor had been fired over two allegations of misconduct.
According to media reports, Abraham received a warning after the first complaint and was fired when the second complaint came to the attention of series co-creator and star Rob McElhenney.
Lionsgate Television Productions Mythic Questissued an official statement at the time, “We take allegations of misconduct seriously and investigate them thoroughly. As a company policy, we do not comment on personnel conduct.”
However, no one in the cast Mythic Quest So far, reports of misconduct have been publicly commented on.
Abraham played CW Longbottom for the first two seasons of the series, but was not brought back for the third season.
In the series, it is explained that the character is terminally ill and decides to die in a flame of glory.
“It’s a shame Murray’s not here this season,” McElhenney said ahead of Season 3 in late 2022.
“But we recognize that The CW is a much-loved character and obviously a huge part of the show. So, we made sure we had a really proper tribute to him. We’re definitely going to address that heavily.”
