Gov. DeSantis, known for his staunch opposition to “wake-up,” reiterated his commitment to the cause as he addressed supporters at the event. “We will wage war on the awakened,” he declared, vowing to fight it in education, business and the halls of Congress.

“We’re going to fight disenchantment in education, we’re going to fight disenchantment in business, and we’re going to fight disenchantment in business. Congress’ said the governor of Florida.

Full of passion and determination, DeSantis said he refused to surrender to what he called a “woke mob.”

DeSantis, 42, drew comparisons to a controversial jacket worn by former first lady Melania Trump when she visited migrant children in Texas in 2018.

Melania’s $39 green hooded Zara jacket was emblazoned with the words “I Really Don’t Care, Do You?” On the back, it sparked debate about its meaning, and whether it reflected her indifference to the fate of detained children, or a response to media attacks on her family.

The rally in Des Moines brought together several Republican candidates, including Gov. Ron DeSantis, former Vice President Mike Pence, former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley and South Carolina Senator Tim S. Kurt.

It is worth noting that former US President Trump was absent from the event.

The 44-year-old Florida governor has been actively battling sobriety for years.

In December 2021, Ron DeSantis announced the Stop WOKE Act (Stop WOKE), a legislative proposal to further efforts to ban Florida’s School of Critical Race Theory and The New York Times 1619 Project. His commitment to fighting “sobriety” also led to his indefinite suspension of Democratic state attorney Andrew Warren, after Warren pledged in August 2022 not to prosecute abortion seekers or providers.

As the campaign continues, the DeSantis duo’s efforts to combat “woke” ideology will undoubtedly remain in focus, reflecting their dedication to their political agenda and principles.
