TOBA TEK SINGH: Faisalabad’s CIA police team extradited three suspects from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Saturday.
Faisalabad CPO Usman Akram Gondal told the media that two of them – Zeeshan and Usman – allegedly raped a child after abducting him in Chak Jhumra five years ago, while another suspect, Saqlain, was also killed about two years ago. An underage boy was abducted from Sahianwala.
He said the suspects were spotted through modern technology and when their location was confirmed, the UAE government was asked to help CIA police in Faisalabad to arrest them, for which the Ministry of Interior issued a red arrest warrant.
He said the team returned to Pakistan on Saturday and handed over the suspects to their respective police stations for investigation and the case against them will be referred to the courts.
access: Punjab Local Government Secretary Dr. Irshad Ahmed visited Gojra on Saturday to review the progress of work on the Punjab City Plan (PCP), and city council officials briefed him on the implementation of the project.
The secretary directed local government officials to oversee the construction process to ensure all plans are completed as planned.
He said the scheme was being carried out in 16 tehsils in Punjab, with funds worth billions of rupees being used to build and repair roads and buy machinery to improve municipal services. Five projects in Gojra are underway and two more are planned to be launched soon, he said.
He said the PCP would transform the situation in 16 small cities in Punjab as through it water supply, sewage treatment, waste management, road and park construction and provision of street lights would be improved.
