Dubai-based airline flydubai is gearing up for its busiest summer to date; more than 4.5 million passengers are expected to travel across its expanding network between 1 June and 30 September.

More than 4.5 million passengers are expected to travel through the flydubai network in the coming months, reflecting growing travel demand, passenger confidence in our services and the attractiveness of Dubai services and our growing network.”
Hamad Obaidalla, chief commercial officer at flydubai, said: “We are delighted to offer passengers even more travel options this summer, with more than 115 destinations to choose from. flydubai’s seasonal summer routes and Its growing network will enable more people to travel, whether for holiday, business or visiting family and friends. We have increased capacity by 33% in our markets and look forward to welcoming passengers on board during the Hari Raya holiday and the busy summer period .”
This summer, the airline offers passengers travel options to 117 destinations in 52 countries, including Krabi, Milan-Bergamo, Neom, Pattaya, St. Petersburg and more. From June 21, flydubai will begin operating flights to nine seasonal summer destinations.
Busy Eid travel period: The carrier has boosted capacity to selected destinations in its network by 20% to accommodate a surge in travel demand during the Eid holiday period from 24 June to 2 July. This includes popular destinations such as Baku, Beirut, Colombo, Male, Tbilisi, Yerevan and Zanzibar.
To meet growing demand, capacity across the network has increased by 33% between June 1 and September 30 compared to the same period in 2022.
European network: flydubai has expanded its network in Europe to 28 destinations, including five destinations including Italy, Belgrade, Budapest, Prague, Salzburg, Warsaw, and Zagreb.
Between June 1 and September 30, flydubai’s network scheduled an average of 9,400 flights per month, with August being the busiest month.
Growing Fleet and Workforce
Since the beginning of 2023, flydubai has taken delivery of seven new aircraft, increasing its Boeing 737 fleet to 79 aircraft, a 23% increase compared to the number of aircraft in operation during the same period in 2022.
To support this growth trajectory, flydubai has added 560 new employees in the past six months, including pilots, cabin crew and talented professionals from 138 different nationalities. – trade arab news agency
