Food Tech Valley, a project of the Dubai-based wasl asset management group centered on food, innovation, knowledge, technology and sustainable development, has signed an agreement with the International Islamic Food Processors Association (IFPA) to support its parent company Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS); to strengthen food security efforts; to achieve a sustainable future for agriculture.
As part of the agreement, Food Tech Valley will provide IFPA members with the best in agricultural technology by exchanging expertise and operational excellence through industry training, conferences and events, said Ahmed AlShaibani, Program Leader, Food Tech Valley after signing the agreement with Yerlan A. The partnership will enable IFPA to continue to foster strong relationships among agribusinesses in IOFS member countries and enhance B2B collaboration capabilities among the OIC private sector.
“The strategic partnership with IFPA will help Food Tech Valley solidify its mission to help its members distribute and promote produce and support top companies in the OIC/IOFS marketplace; it will also facilitate business connections and strategic partnerships in the food sector -processing and the wider food supply chain,” he said.
“Our mission at Food Tech Valley is to create a collaborative network to lead regional transformation and export knowledge towards sustainable food systems,” he added.
Yerlan A. Baidulet said: “The International Islamic Food Processors Association (IFPA), a subsidiary of IOFS, is an organization that can help achieve OIC national food security. By working closely with the private sector, IFPA will assist OIC members in establishing food manufacturing capabilities and expand trade opportunities.”
“As IFPA moves to the UAE, with Dubai as its headquarters, IFPA is in a geostrategic position with the infrastructure and track record to facilitate improvements in the food manufacturing value chain,” he noted.
“In this direction, today’s Memorandum of Understanding with Food Tech Valley and our close cooperation with Gulfood Manufacturing is our first step towards achieving food security within OIC countries,” he added.
