Former Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) Vice President Jean-Marc Cordier has officially joined Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) as head of its trading arm, NNPC Trading Limited.
In a statement signed today by its Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Garba Deen Muhammad, NNPC Ltd was informed that Cordier’s appointment is to drive the company’s ongoing repositioning efforts focused on enhancing growth, improving performance and delivering services.
Cordier is a well-known international oil trader with French-Swiss nationality and a master’s degree in corporate finance with distinction from the Université Paris Dauphine.
NNPCL Ltd stated that Cordier has more than 30 years of experience and a strong background in physical oil derivatives and risk management, as well as extensive experience in restructuring and creating trading businesses, which will sustain the company’s growth.
Records show Cordier spent 24 years at Elf Trading/Total Trading in a variety of roles as trader and desk manager in Geneva, and four years as global trading manager at Addax Energy in Geneva.
At ADNOC, United Arab Emirates, Cordier served as Vice President, Middle Distillates; Senior Vice President, Risk Management and a member of the senior team responsible for building trading activities for ADNOC and launching ADNOC Global Trading AGT in December 2020.
