The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Limited said Jean-Marc Cordier has joined its oil trading arm, NNPC Trading Limited.
NNPC spokesman Garba Deen Muhammad made the announcement in a statement in Abuja on Monday.
According to the statement, Cordier, who was previously vice president of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) in the United Arab Emirates, joined the group as head of NNPC Trading.
Muhammad said the appointment is part of the company’s ongoing repositioning to improve growth, performance and service delivery.
He describes Cordier – a French/Swiss national – aA well-known international oil trader.
According to Mohamed, Cordier has a master’s degree in corporate finance from Paris Dauphin University.
“Cordier has a strong background of more than 30 years in physical oil, oil derivatives and risk management, and extensive experience restructuring and creating trading businesses,” he said.
“He spent 24 years at Elf Trading/Total Trading in various positions as Trader, Geneva Trading Desk Manager and four years as Global Trading Manager at Addax Energy in Geneva.
“At ADNOC in Abu Dhabi, UAE, he served as Vice President Middle Distillates, Senior Vice President Risk Management, senior team member responsible for building trading activities for ADNOC and launching ADNOC Global Trade (AGT) in December, 2020.”
Mohammad said Kodir was already with the company.
