(ANSAd) – NAPLES, Nov. 28 – The Al-Dhaid Fort in the Emirate of Sharjah will be at the center of a series of initiatives in the coming days leading up to the UAE’s 51st National Day on Dec. 2.
According to Gulf News, the celebrations began in Sharjah on Tuesday, November 29, and will continue until December 2, with parades, camel races, traditional folk performances, prizes for participants and more.
Al Dhaid Fort will host a celebration organized by the Sharjah National Day Celebrations Committee.
“On the first day, festivities will run from 8am to 11am, while the rest of the days will be celebrated in the evening. On 29th November, the festivities at Al Dhaid Fort will be followed by a cultural folklore show,” it famously said.
“During the evening celebrations over the next three days, from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., audiences can enjoy traditional dance performances, folk performances, patriotic songs and ballads, competitions, prizes and art workshops.” According to reports, 12 On September 2, “a formal parade, camel races, traditional folk performances and other popular events will be held”.
There will also be activities for children.
Other events in the UAE will take place in the Khawr Fakkan waters, with artists such as Eida Al Menhali and Diana Haddad performing in the amphitheater on 3 December.
“Khorfakkan Beach will also host various events from December 1 to 3, including cultural dances and performances, children’s workshops, traditional food and other activities,” Gulf News reported.
Rashid Khamis Obaid Al Naqbi, Chairman of Khorfakkan City Council, said: “The joy of our country is renewed with every dawn. But on National Day, it becomes a festival for citizens, residents and tourists. Here in Khorfakkan, the whole city welcomes all hope He who celebrates this wonderful national festival; the melody is carried from the mountains of Khorfakkan to the coast.” The celebrations will be held across the country and the UAE has decided to close all government offices from December 1 to 4.
Emirates Palace Abu Dhabi will also host an event-packed program for the National Day, starting today and continuing with a fireworks display in the evening of 2 December.
The date marks the unification of the six emirates in 1971, creating the United Arab Emirates. The following year, a seventh city, Ras Al Khaimah, was added. (ANSAmed).
