Frisco-based The Gearbox Entertainment Co. has acquired another Frisco-based company, Captured Dimensions, which specializes in 3D capture, scanning and reconstruction services.
According to Gearbox, Jordan Williams will continue as head of Captured Dimensions and will report directly to Randy Pitchford, president and founder of Gearbox Entertainment. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“We’ve had the pleasure of working with Jordan and his team at Captured Dimensions on several projects over the years – this deal brings a wealth of talent in several key areas to the Gearbox family, and I’m delighted to welcome them,” Gearbox Entertainment Sean Haran, Co.’s chief commercial officer, said in a statement. “This acquisition brings incredible technology to future projects and the ability to further expand offerings to strategic partners across multiple business units.”
A 10-year veteran of the film and video game industry, Captured Dimensions has worked on notable titles for 20th Century FOX, Lionsgate, Sony Pictures, Netflix as well as 2K Games and Electronic Arts.
