Ghassan Aboud and Halal Quality Control join forces

UAE-based international conglomerate Ghassan Aboud Group and Halal Quality Control (HQC) Group will launch a halal certification solution for UAE companies that manufacture and export halal products.

Announced at Gulfood, the world’s largest annual global food and beverage sourcing event, the joint venture will provide certification and business solutions to maintain high standards and regulations in compliance with international halal requirements, to facilitate the growth of the UAE’s halal economy and promote Trade is promoted throughout the region through an online application process on its dedicated online platform.

According to the second edition of the Halal Guidelines released last year, the halal economy is estimated to be worth $3.2 trillion by 2024 – with demand surging and the UAE becoming a major player in the production and export of goods and products across several industries.

Ghassan Aboud, Founder and Chairman of Ghassan Aboud Group, said: “The partnership between the Group and HQC in the Dubai Multi Commodities Center (DMCC) ecosystem is an important milestone in our efforts to contribute to the UAE’s status as a Halal industry leader. The joint venture was established to help its customers achieve Halal certification and will help enable new trade pathways through Halal certification and training.”

Dr AM Al Chaman, Founder of HQC and European Representative of the World Halal Food Council, said: “This partnership is a turning point in promoting Halal certification services in the UAE to meet the growing demand for Halal products from global consumers. We understand that there is a gap in Halal certification and we We are working with DMCC to provide consistent and trusted certification to Gulf region exporters to enhance the flow of merchandise trade through Dubai.

“The new joint venture will assist with the end-to-end halal certification process, providing easy access and a seamless experience. We look forward to expanding our services to the wider Asian market, where there is an increasing demand for halal products and improved import and export policies .”

Halal certification

Established in 1983, HQC is an internationally recognized Halal certification body and has been named as one of the first trusted accredited Halal certification bodies in Europe.

The comprehensive application process will evaluate the company on several indicators, including production environment and cleaning process, and finally conduct an on-site audit by HQC’s Shariah and technical auditors. Once approved, the organization will receive a certificate allowing it to enter the global halal market. This process is repeated annually and complies with international standards and regulations. — trade arab news agency
