Nature The winners of Hollywood’s 16th annual Essence Black Women were announced Monday awardsthe award honors black women who “have left an undeniable mark on film and television and shaped their own definition of what it means to be a black woman in Hollywood.”
This year, Nature Executive Tara Duncan (President of Freeform and Onyx Collective), Director Gina Prince-Bythewood (Queen), actress Danielle Deadwell (until), actress Dominic Thorne (Black Panther: Wakanda Forever) and actress Cheryl Lee Ralph (Abbott Elementary School). The event will take place on March 9 at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles.

“For more than ten years, Nature Caroline Wanga, President and CEO of Essence, supports the Black Women in Hollywood Awards to honor Black women who are the creators, storytellers, storytellers and sharers of stories who have nurtured what the world cherishes and loves Entertainment Ecosystem Ventures says. “We are honored to have this hallowed platform to illuminate the continuing accomplishments of black women at our annual luncheon for the 16th year since our founding. Over the past 16 years, Black Women in Hollywood has grown from a 400-person luncheon to “an oasis of sisterhood and a safe space where Black women can fully see, hear, and embrace each other.”
