Emirati fashion lovers, mark October 26th on your calendars as ‘extremely busy’ as Giorgio Armani plans a spectacular fashion show in Dubai on this day. An exciting new addition to the emirate’s fashion calendar is a new addition to the Nomads ‘One Night Only’ collection. This unmissable event will mark the 10th anniversary of Armani Hotels in Milan and Dubai. It will also be held in conjunction with Expo 2020, which is scheduled to open on October 1 and run until March 31, 2022.
The famous 87-year-old Italian designer from Piacenza said in a statement that he was “delighted to be back in Dubai after 11 years”.
The Armani Group has twice canceled fashion shows showcasing the Armani Cruise collection in Dubai due to the coronavirus pandemic, coinciding with the reopening of the Giorgio Armani boutique in The Dubai Mall. The first, originally scheduled for April last year, was pushed back to November, but regional fashion fanatics had to wait.
In his early years, the designer, known for his casually luxurious ready-to-wear and elegantly beaded eveningwear, staged ‘One Night Only’ shows in cities around the world. The series has landed in London (2006), Tokyo (2007) and Beijing (2012). Then there were two shows in Rome and New York in 2013, and one in Paris in 2014. An event was originally scheduled to take place in Shanghai in 2018, but was stopped due to technical and logistical reasons.
