Hamas has condemned the United Arab Emirates’ decision to include the Holocaust in school curricula.
“We condemn and denounce the UAE embassy’s announcement in Washington that its country has incorporated material about the ‘Holocaust’ into its educational curriculum, which we see as support for the Zionist narrative and a form of cultural normalization,” Terror Hazim Qassem said, the spokesman for the organization said.
Hamas has previously called the massacre a “Zionist lie” while slamming the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) for wanting to educate Gaza’s children about the Holocaust.

The UAE embassy in Washington announced earlier this month that “following the historic Abraham Accords, (the UAE) will now include the Holocaust in primary and secondary school curricula.”
“The memory of the victims of the Holocaust is critical. Public figures fail to tell the truth because their narratives are hijacked by political agendas, yet a tragedy on the scale of the Holocaust is not just for Jews, but for humanity as a whole,” it added.
The decision was welcomed by Jerusalem’s Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum, whose spokesman Simi Allen told CNN: “Now that we have the opportunity to reach new audiences, Yad Vashem is working hard to bring Holocaust awareness to the Arabic language. The nation paves the way for the world.”
“In most of the Arabic-speaking world, until recently, there was little dialogue with Yad Vashem about the events and atrocities of the Holocaust,” he added.
