Harrison Ford’s final film as Indiana Jones might have employed AI to make him younger, but the 80-year-old actor revealed his love for aging and his refusal to slow down. At the Cannes premiere of “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny,” Ford confirmed this would be his last adventure as the iconic archaeologist, with Lucasfilm’s Kathleen Kennedy firmly dismissing the idea of AI prolonging Ford’s return.
In an emotional reflection on his career and co-stars, Ford expressed contentment with his age, stating, “I love being older.”
Despite bidding adieu to Indy, he remains active, committing to another season of both “1923” and “Shrinking.”
Ford playfully acknowledged a reporter’s compliment on his physique in a shirtless scene, responding with gratitude.
When asked why he’s letting Indy go, he humorously gestured to himself, quipping, “Isn’t it evident?”
Debuting in 1981’s “Raiders of the Lost Ark,” Ford’s iconic portrayal as the adventurous archaeologist spanned four decades.
Ahead of the fifth installment’s premiere, he was moved to tears upon receiving an honorary Palme d’Or.
Joined by Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Mads Mikkelsen, the movie showcases Indy combating Nazis across locations, gaining both nostalgic praise and mixed reviews from critics. The Guardian deemed it “wildly silly and entertaining.”
