Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg expressed his willingness for a potential cage fight against Elon Musk. Meanwhile, the Tesla CEO hinted at a delay due to a possible surgery before this highly anticipated clash between the two prominent tech figures, Musk (52) and Zuckerberg (39). The duo’s playful posts have stirred excitement among netizens, building anticipation for this potentially unprecedented showdown.
In a typical sequence on Monday, both figures adhered to their usual approach by utilizing their respective social media platforms to playfully jab at each other, causing a flurry of excitement across the internet.
Initiating this round, Zuckerberg mentioned in Threads that Musk hadn’t finalized a fight date. He shared a screenshot of a tweet where Musk indicated he spent the entire day lifting weights as part of his training.
“I’m prepared right now. I initially proposed August 26 when he [Elon Musk] issued the challenge, but he hasn’t confirmed. Not getting too hopeful,” Zuckerberg stated on Meta’s newly introduced platform, which is considered a competitor to Musk’s Twitter. The cage fight challenge was originally presented by Musk to Zuckerberg in a Twitter conversation with a user on June 21.
“I have a genuine passion for this sport and will keep engaging with those who train, regardless of the outcome here,” Zuckerberg further conveyed.
Musk’s tweet, which prompted a reaction from Zuckerberg, stated, “I’m lifting weights all day to get ready for the fight. No time for the gym, so I bring it to work.” Musk was referencing a Twitter video in which he demonstrated dumbbell curls within his office environment.
Subsequent to Zuckerberg’s Threads post on Monday, Musk shared in a conversation on “X,” formerly Twitter, that the fight date remained undecided. Responding to a user, he stated, “The exact date is still uncertain. I have an MRI for my neck and upper back scheduled for tomorrow. Surgery might be necessary before the fight can occur. I’ll have more information this week.”
