The world’s largest indoor theme park is welcoming some of the world’s most popular wizards. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter will come to the Abu Dhabi attraction on Yas Island for the first time in the Middle East, giving fans the chance to walk into all the beloved locations from the record-breaking book series and the blockbuster they inspired.
Developed by Warner Bros. Discovery’s global themed entertainment company and Yas Island developer Miral, Harry Potter-The theme park will join six existing immersive parks at Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi, including Gotham City, Cartoon Hub and Metropolis.
It has not been announced when development will begin.
“The Wizarding World offers fans of all ages something to enjoy. Original Harry Potter Stories and blockbuster franchises continue to engage and inspire hundreds of millions of fans around the world, and our global themed entertainment team, together with our partner Miral, will expand our successful Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi to bring this magical experience to life . ” said Pam Lifford, president of global brands and experiences at Warner Bros Discovery.
It’s been over 25 years since JK Rowling’s book was published Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, Franchising remains a global phenomenon. These books have sold more than 600 million copies worldwide, have been published in more than 200 territories, and have been translated into more than 80 languages. The eight films they inspired were all blockbusters.
Although few details Harry Potter– Themed attractions have been revealed, which Mirall says will be “massive”.
