Abu Dhabi: How to get up to 35% off traffic fines

Dubai: Have you received a lot of traffic fines in Abu Dhabi? If so, it is recommended that you pay early as you may be eligible for discounts of up to 35%.

Abu Dhabi Police announced discounts on traffic fines last month, with the option to split the remaining amount into instalments over a year.

However, to use the service, you will need to ensure that you have a credit or debit card with any of the five banks affiliated with the Abu Dhabi Police.

Banks affiliated with the Abu Dhabi Traffic Fines Discount Scheme:

1. First Bank Abu Dhabi
2. Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank
3. Mashrek Bank
4. Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank
5. Emirates Islamic Bank

How much discount can I get?

Depending on when you pay the fine in advance, the discount percentage will be calculated:

• Pay traffic fines within 60 days – you’ll get a 35% discount.
• Pay traffic fines up to one year after 60 days – you’ll get a 25% discount.

Higher fines? You can pay in installments.

Abu Dhabi Police also announced that if motorists pay the fine within a year, they can pay the fine in interest-free instalments online.For more details on how to use the installment service, please read our guide here.

How to pay traffic fines in Abu Dhabi?

According to the Abu Dhabi Police announcement, motorists can pay their fines online through any of the following platforms:

1. Abu Dhabi Police website – www.adpolice.gov.ae

2. Abu Dhabi Police Mobile App – Available for Android and Apple devices.

3. Tamm – Abu Dhabi’s official government online service platform.

4. Abu Dhabi Police Transport Authority Customer Service Centre

Here’s how to pay fines through the following platforms:

Abu Dhabi Police Website

1. Visit the link to the Abu Dhabi Police website – https://es.adpolice.gov.ae/TrafficServices/FinesPublic/Inquiry.aspx?Culture=en.

2. Enter your license plate number, traffic file number, Emirates ID or driver’s license number.

3. Enter the verification code picture to verify.

4. You will receive a list of fines you have incurred,

5. Pay with your credit or debit card – the credit/debit card must be from a bank that works with Abu Dhabi Police.

If your credit/debit card is from an approved bank, the discount will automatically apply once you enter your credit card details.

Abu Dhabi Police App

1. Download the “Abu Dhabi Police” app for Apple and Android devices.

2. Enter your Emirates ID number, email address and mobile number to create an account or log in with your Emirates Pass.

3. Once logged in, click the Services tab and select Transportation Services.

4. Click “Pay Traffic Fine”.

5. You must then select the information to enter to view the traffic fine:

• Use traffic document numbers
• Use the license plate number
• Use driver’s license details

6. Select one of the options and you will see pending fines.

7. Next, enter your credit/debit card details. If your credit card is from one of the five banks, the discount will be applied automatically.

Tamm

1. Visit the www.tamm.abudhabi website and click ‘Login’ in the upper right corner of the website, then log in with your Emirates Pass. Without the UAE Pass, you will not be able to access any services on Tamm.Click here for a step-by-step guide on how to create Emirates Pass account.

2. Next, enter “traffic fine payment” in the search bar in the lower left corner of the website.

3. Next, click on the first option, “Traffic fine payment”.

4. Then, click the Start button.

5. Your Emirates ID details and contact number will be entered automatically. You must then enter your license and vehicle details to pay the fine.

6. After entering the information, pay the fine by credit/debit card.

After paying the fine through the Abu Dhabi Police app, website or Tamm platform, you will receive a text message to your registered phone number confirming that you have paid the traffic fine.
