Her Excellency Sara Musallam, Minister of State for Early Education and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge, visited the Zayed University Abu Dhabi campus

ABU DHABI: His Excellency Noura bint Mohammad Al Kaabi, Rector of Zayed University (ZU), received HE Sara Musallam, Minister of State for Early Education, to accompany the ADEK delegation to ZU’s Abu Dhabi campus.

The visit included a welcome session where His Excellency Salah Musallam was briefed on Zayed University’s groundbreaking new interdisciplinary programs aimed at developing the country’s future leaders, thinkers and doers.

Undergraduate students at Zayed University can now choose from four new interdisciplinary degree programs taught using pioneering active learning techniques. All students also participate in Zayed University’s unique Partner Challenge programme, which offers students the opportunity to work alongside local and international companies, giving them the valuable real-world experience they need to thrive in their careers. The new degree programs are in line with the UAE’s Centennial Plan 2071 and 50 projects focused on improving the education system as part of the government’s plan to build a stronger and more innovative nation.

During her visit, HE Sara Musallam visited the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies and took a university general education course with first-year students. She is accompanied on the tour by Dr. Michael Allen, Acting Provost and Chief Academic Officer, and Dr. Paul Hopkinson, recently appointed Dean of the School of Interdisciplinary Studies.

Commenting on the visit, His Excellency Noura bint Mohamed Al Kaabi, Rector of Zayed University and Minister of State, said: “We are honored to welcome HE Sara Musallam to ZU’s campus to witness first-hand the exciting work we are doing through our new interdisciplinary program. All of us in the education sector have a responsibility to ensure that our students prepare for the workplace To be as prepared as possible, we are working closely with our partners at the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge to work together. Our new project is already delivering significant benefits and together we are benefiting Zayed University and its students Excited about its future potential.”

The Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge delegation included: HE. ADEK Deputy Minister Mubarak Hamad AlMheiri, HE. Khuloud Aldhaheri – Executive Director, Educational Partnerships, Dr Bashaer AlMatrooshi – Executive Director, Talent Support, Dr Ahmed Sultan Al Shoaibi – Acting Executive Director, Higher Education and Ms Aliaa Shubbar – Acting Director, Abu Dhabi Scholarships.
