Hilton partners with agtech platform Fresh On Table

Hilton partners with agtech platform Fresh On Table

Hilton renewed its partnership with UAE-based agritech platform Fresh On Table at Gulfood 2023, with the goal of doubling the amount of local produce sourced at the brand’s hotels in the country.

The ongoing deal between Hilton and Fresh On Table follows a successful partnership last year in which the two entities surpassed their local food sourcing goals. The expanded partnership promises an even bigger commitment in 2023, adding targets and intentional sourcing strategies reaffirming their commitment to supporting local farms and produce.

Hilton previously sourced 440 tonnes of local produce per year for its UAE hotels, and through this new partnership, this is expected to increase to more than 900 tonnes. As part of the partnership, 45 additional product lines have been added, such as herbs and leaf vegetables, with an expected annual production capacity of 50 tonnes.

According to Emma Banks, VP Dining Strategy and Development, Hilton EMEA and Gulfood’s “Sustainability Professional of the Year”: Sourcing locally. Through the new agreement with Fresh on Table, our production is expected to increase from 440 tonnes per year to over 900 tonnes – a move we hope will support local agriculture and enable other entities in the hospitality industry to follow suit. “

Atul Chopra, founder of Fresh On Table Corporation, said: “Fresh On Table’s mission is to continue to raise awareness of the circular economy, support key industry players, and bring production and consumption as close as possible. The new agreement for 2023 strengthens the partnership with Hilton and believes our joint efforts in local sourcing will have an unprecedented impact on the country’s food delivery network and hospitality industry.”

Through Hilton’s Travel with Purpose responsible sourcing commitment, artisans, farmers and small businesses are able to responsibly source food and beverage ingredients while enhancing the overall guest experience. – trade arab news agency
