Heavy rains have battered streets in Pakistan, causing flash floods and flooding several areas of the country.Sheikh Baz Sharif government announced “National emergency” after widespread destruction.
The rains and ensuing floods have so far killed 937 people, including 343 children, and made at least 30 million homeless, according to Agence France-Presse. The death toll in Sindh reached its highest level of 306 since June 14, with 23 districts declared disaster-stricken.

Another video shows a large house in Balingswat being washed away by floodwaters. A Reuters report said 150 kilometers of roads across the country had been damaged in the past 24 hours, with more than 82,000 homes partially or fully damaged. More than 3,000 kilometers of roads, 130 bridges and 4,95,000 homes have been damaged since the monsoon began in mid-June.
Video shared by the official Pakistani Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) account showed rescue teams leading people to safety from areas where floodwaters appeared to be pouring violently.
Pakistan has urged the international community to help relief efforts as it grapples with the aftermath of torrential rains that have triggered massive flooding since last month.
