Hugh Grant turned down ‘blockbuster special effects’ films before agreeing to shoot ‘Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves’
The 62-year-old actor, best known for his roles in “Bridget Jones” and “Paddington” films, plays ambitious rogue and crook Forge Fitzwilliam in this fantasy comedy heist flick, which he finds to be Did not expect “charming and funny”.
Asked what this was an unusual role for him to do, he told SFX Magazine: “I guess I was a little bit surprised, too. I get blockbuster special effects type stuff once in a while, but they never resonate with me.
“So I wasn’t expecting much, but I found it fascinating and entertaining.”
The “Four Weddings and a Funeral” star also admitted to being “a little bit scared” of his co-star Michelle Rodriguez, who plays a man exiled by the Usgat elk tribe Savage, but she said she was “a good hugger”.
Asked what he thought of his co-stars, he replied: “I’m a little scared of Michelle. I don’t know why.
“I think she’s going to beat me. There’s no one better than her in that costume. She’s from the streets of New York and I’m from an Oxford Abbey…so she freaks me out, but she can’t be any better. Good hugger.
The film also stars Chris Pine, Reg-Jane Page and Judge Smith, among others.
