President Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden joins his father and other members of the Biden family to enjoy the Fourth of July fireworks display at the White House after a weekend trip to Camp David.
President Biden and first lady Jill Biden were joined by other members of the first family on the balcony of the South Portico, accompanied by Hunter, his son Beau and first daughter Ashley Biden.
In brief remarks, President Biden welcomed military families, National Park Service staff and their families, as well as members of his administration and their families to the White House for Independence Day celebrations.
“Welcome to your home. We’re just renting.”
Attendees watched a spectacular fireworks display on the National Mall and enjoyed musical performances by the U.S. Military Senior Band, country musicians Brothers Osborne and musician NE-YO, among others.

President Biden emphasized in his speech: “The change that music can make is amazing. No, no, no, I’m serious. Think about how music can change emotions. Music can make us feel better.”
Jill Biden then introduced the next musical performance, emphasizing the importance of music in enhancing the overall experience.
Earlier in the day, President Biden, First Lady Hunter, his wife Melissa Cohen, Beau Jr. and Hunter Biden’s daughter Finnegan arrived at McNay in Washington after boarding Marine One fort.
Before the evening’s fireworks display, the president and his family hosted a barbecue for active duty military families on the White House lawn.
However, the celebrations followed an incident 36 hours earlier when an “unidentified object” prompted a temporary evacuation of the White House.
The hazmat team was dispatched to investigate the white powdery substance, which was found in an area accessible to White House staff and guests.
Preliminary tests suggest the substance is cocaine, with further tests planned to confirm its nature. Authorities are currently investigating how the substance got into the White House.
Notably, Hunter Biden, who has publicly admitted to a past cocaine addiction, appeared on the White House grounds ahead of a trip to Camp David with his father for the second weekend in a row.

Despite initial concerns about the discovery of the substance, the Bidens and their guests were able to enjoy the National Day festivities and fireworks display.
