The I2U2 Business Forum in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE), brought together senior private and public sector representatives from four countries to discuss collaboration opportunities between the business community.

This is the first event of its kind since the I2U2 Group was officially launched during the Leaders Summit last July. The I2U2 Group focuses on promoting economic cooperation among its members in areas such as food safety, water, energy, space, transportation, health and technology.

Companies and private sector representatives participating in the business forum “exchanged insights and discussed potential partnerships in seven parallel sessions, focusing on the areas of food security, energy, water, space, transport, health and technology,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement. said in a statement. statement.





I2U2 aims to mobilize private sector capital and expertise to help modernize infrastructure, decarbonize industry, improve public health and foster the development of green technologies.

As part of these efforts, the UAE is exploring a possible $2 billion investment in integrated agricultural facilities across India and the development of a 300-megawatt wind and solar power plant in Gujarat.

Ahmed Al Sayegh, UAE Minister of State, Jose Fernandez, US Deputy Secretary of State, Dammu Ravi, Secretary of Foreign Affairs (Economic Relations), Ronen Levi, Director General of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Brett McGurk, Israeli Foreign Minister, spoke at the I2U2 Business Forum. Officials reiterated their commitment to strengthen economic cooperation under I2U2 and emphasized the importance of direct engagement between policymakers and private sector stakeholders in the four countries.



Ravi reiterated India’s commitment to I2U2 and urged all stakeholders to work towards real progress on the I2U2 initiative, including the establishment of an innovation hub in Gurgaon.

Under India’s LiFE (Environmental Lifestyles) initiative, he urged I2U2 partners to strive for a sustainable and eco-friendly lifestyle.

During the meeting, India became the latest member of the Climate Agriculture Innovation Mission launched by the UAE and the US at COP26.

Officials said this would lead to greater cooperation on innovations in climate change agriculture and food systems.

The I2U2 Business Forum aims to be a regular platform for private and public entities in the four countries to establish tangible joint ventures in the economic and technological fields.
