The first UAE ammunition box, dubbed the Kinana, has been unveiled and is made from fully recyclable local materials.
At the Idex 2023 defense exhibition in Abu Dhabi, Tawazun Industrial Park (TIP), the industrial development arm of the Tawazun Council, showcased the new lightweight product, which is more than 68% lighter than conventional steel boxes.

Kinana has a built-in radio frequency identification (RFID) tag for tracking and control and is manufactured from local materials supplied by Borouge in Abu Dhabi.

Al Nahdi noted that the manufacturing of Kinana is planned to start soon and the product is expected to have a huge market impact.
Fully recyclable and compatible with current steel cartridges, the Kinana is designed for low noise handling and contact and comes in a variety of colours, color coded according to ammunition type. Kinana has a net weight of 750g, a length of 305.5mm, a width of 154.7mm, and a height of 190mm.
