Guests of honor at the opening ceremony of the chess tournament during the Ramadan festival at the International School of Italy.
Italian International School (IIS) Khalifa City, in association with Reportage Properties, organized its inaugural Ramadan Festival with a series of exciting events for the entire community.
Running until August 15, 2023, the festival includes football, cricket and chess competitions for different age groups, as well as a variety of other games, including a latte art competition, Ramadan puzzles, arts and crafts games, creative writing and more .
Reportage Properties and Italian International School President Arif Al Khoori cut the ribbon and delivered a speech to open the festival. Other key officials attending the inauguration included School Principal Janet DesJardins, Italian School Vice President Dr Ismaeil Al Khoori, Abu Dhabi Chess Club Board Member Suhail Al Awathi, Reportage Properties Sales Director Mohammed Al Zarooni, Eoin Bolger Gulf Education CEO, Empire Global Investment Chairman Faisal Al Ali.
DesJardins welcomes the community to the festival and would like to thank all participants, sponsors and supporters.
Arif al Khoori shared his vision for celebrating the festival each year and expanding it to include more events and participants.
He expressed his delight at the success of the event and thanked all the organizers, volunteers and participants for making it possible.
“The festival provides a platform for cultural exchange and community engagement, and we look forward to hosting similar events in the future,” he added.
The festival has five participating companies: Dominant Football, ISM Sports, The Barista Institute, Brainiacs and Abu Dhabi Chess and Mind Games. Brainiacs will organize Ramadan games and puzzles, while The Barista Institute will host a latte art competition.
The festival is part of a corporate social responsibility program and offers up to Dhs50,000 in prize money, trophies and certificates in various tournaments and competitions. The Italian International School (IIS) and Reportage Properties are committed to promoting cultural diversity and this festival is a testament to their commitment to bringing people together and celebrating the UAE’s rich culture.
The festival will conclude on August 15th with a closing ceremony and distribution of trophies.
