Imax announced Thursday that Megan Colligan will step down as president of its entertainment division at the end of April. The search for her successor is currently underway.
The former Paramount distribution executive joined Imax Entertainment in 2019 and oversaw the launch of the company’s “Filmed for Imax” program to attract new filmmakers to shoot with cameras designed for the premium format. Last year, she also spearheaded the launch of Imax Live, a new division currently in testing at 250 locations around the world that aims to bring live events to Imax auditoriums.
“We thank Meghan for her contributions to the company during her tenure and wish her the best in her next chapter. IMAX is off to a very strong start in 2023 and we look forward to appointing a new President of IMAX Entertainment who will leverage on this year and beyond. Our momentum,” Imax CEO Rich Gelfond said in a statement.
