As part of the experiment, the company worked with Indian Media Entertainment Network (Humanity), specializing in action films, reimagining the ’90s classic starring Anil Kapoor-Madhuri Dixit-Hema Malini’Jame Raja‘.
Hiren Gada, CEO of Shemaroo Entertainment, said: “We have always been pioneers in innovating new approaches to entertainment India. It has to evolve with industry trends.” “Our first step in reintroducing old content to contemporary audiences was our partnership with IMEN for Jamai. Raja’s collaboration. They have the proven expertise and the right acumen to develop delightful content and reinvent classics at scale.”
The companies will announce the project on Wednesday, 32 years after the 1990 film.
As part of the deal, IMEN will adapt the script to make it a fun-filled movie.
“Shemaroo has long been associated with home entertainment, so I’m excited to partner with them on Jamai Raja, a massive action entertainer that will make people laugh and cry hysterically in theaters,” said Nilesh Sahay, IMEN CEO. “The movie is going to be a big hit, and I’m sure the audience will love it.”
He added that since most of the content consumed internationally is in the action genre, he strives to produce “the best action content” for people to enjoy, as IMEN focuses on that genre.
The cast and crew of the film have yet to be finalized.
