Pakistani media reports an audio clip purportedly of former prime minister’s wife Bushra Bibi Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi can allegedly be heard giving instructions to the social media arm of Imran Khan’s party. The audio was leaked when Imran Khan was speaking at a rally at Islamabad’s military parade ground against inflation, political unrest, the county’s power crisis and rising fuel prices. According to reports Express Tribunethe conversation in the leaked audio allegedly took place between Bushra Bibi and Dr Arsalan Khalid, the focal point of the PTI Digital Media Chair.
It’s unclear when the conversation took place, and only two-minute-long clips of the entire conversation were leaked. The clip begins with Bushra Bibi questioning why PTI’s social media has suddenly become inactive. She then went on to instruct how to build a narrative against dissidents within the party by linking them to a “foreign conspiracy” against Imran Khan.
“They would talk a lot about me and Farah. You have to link that to treason too,” Bushra Bibi allegedly said.
In the purported audio, Bush Rabbi then said the party’s social media would have to deal with the government not buying oil from Russia. “Now you have to make sure this problem doesn’t go away,” she said.
Bushra Bibi said people wanted to know how Imran Khan knew everything before his public appearance. “You understand, but I’m just telling you these things, however, you don’t need to share this with anyone,” she said.
Bushra Bibi, whom Imran Khan married in 2018, was Imran Khan’s longtime spiritual mentor six months before he became prime minister. Bushra Bibi, also known as Pinky Peerni, is considered a private figure far from Pakistani politics.
