Emirates Steel Arkan, the UAE’s largest steel and building materials manufacturer, is concentrating on producing low carbon ‘green steel,’ particularly its ES600 sustainable steel, which can reduce steel consumption by 18 to 24 percent depending on the project’s scale. Saeed Ghumran Al Remeithi, Group CEO of Emirates Steel Arkan, at the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC). ES600 is a high-strength rebar that offers cost and time efficiency, reduces rebar consumption, minimizes congestion, lowers logistics costs, and enhances structural aesthetics. It is currently being used in projects by Sobha Realty and Al Habtoor Group in Dubai.
Emirates Steel Arkan is committed to contributing to the decarbonization efforts of the industry to support the UAE’s net-zero by 2050 goal. They are also sponsoring the ADIPEC Decarbonization Zone, where energy leaders discuss low-carbon technologies and the role of the oil and gas sector in the transition to cleaner energy sources.
